RECENT NOTABLE ACTIVITY – ENTERPRISE COLLABORATION

  • Task management app Asana raises $50M in Series C round at a $600M valuation led by Y-Combinator’s Sam Altman. Link
  • M-Files Corp, a Finnish document management company, raised $36 million in a Series B funding round led by Partech Ventures. Link
  • Looker, a data visualization and business intelligence startup created Slack Bot which inserts data directly into conversation. Link
  • Slack, enterprise messaging app will soon start testing voice and video features in its platform. Link

Schedul (2016, Paris) –  Schedul is a tool for teams to schedule messages on slack so that it is seen by most people when they are online.
Sendergram (2015, LA) – A file sending, discussion and tracking platform with blockchain verification.

LogMeIn (2003, Boston, IPO) – Provider of SaaS and cloud based remote connectivity services for collaboration, IT Management & customer engagement. Went Public in 2009.
Atlassian (2002, Sydney, IPO) – Enterprise collaboration software solutions provider offering tracking, collaboration, real-time communication, code hosting and repository management. Backed by Accel Partners, T. Rowe Price.


File Synchronization and Sharing

Box (2005, Los Altos, IPO) – Enterprise file sharing cloud storage platform with secure cloud content management and collaboration. Went public in 2015.
Dropbox (2007, SF, $607M) – Dropbox offers cloud storage, file sharing and synchronization, personal cloud, and client software. Backed by BlackRock, Index Ventures,Sequoia Capital.

Content Management
OpenText (1991, Waterloo, IPO) – OpenText provides enterprise information management software solutions to help companies manage their unstructured business information. Went Public in 1996.
Alfresco (2005, Maidenhead, $64.5M) – Open source model providing enterprise content management solutions and business process management. Backed by Sageview Capital, Sapphire Ventures, Accel Partners, Mayfield Fund.

Social Collaboration
Jive Software (2001, Palo Alto, IPO) – Provider of communication and collaboration solutions to businesses. Went public in 2011.
Yammer (2008, SF, $142M, Acq.) – Enterprise social network helps employees to create groups to collaborate on projects and share and edit documents. Acquired by Microsoft in 2012.

Messaging
Vocera (2000, San Jose, IPO) – Provides mobile communication solutions for integrated, intelligent communication in healthcare and other mission-critical mobile environments. Went public in 2012.
Slack (2009, Vancouver, $340M) – SaaS team communication tool for enterprises. Backed by Social Capital, GV, Accel Partners, SV Angel.

Conferencing
RingCentral (2003, San Mateo, IPO) – Cloud based communications and contact center solutions provider offering video conferencing, audio conferencing, and online meetings. Went public in 2013.
Vidyo (2005, Hackensack, $139M) – Provides scalable video conferencing, collaboration solutions and cloud-based services over public networks. Backed by QuestMark Partners, Four Rivers Group, Menlo Ventures, Rho Capital Ventures.

Project Management
Aconex (2000, Melbourne, IPO) – Provides online project collaboration platform on a subscription basis for construction, infrastructure, energy and resource sectors. Went public in 2014.
Workfront (2001, Lehi, $95M) – Cloud-based enterprise work management solution for marketing, IT, and other enterprise teams. Backed by Greenspring Associates, JMI Equity.

Knowledge Management
Kaltura (2006, NYC, $116M) – Provides an open source online video platform that allows companies to simplify the creation of video experiences via video management, publishing, and knowledge sharing. Backed by Nokia Growth Partners, Sapphire Ventures, Nexus VP.
Inkling (2009, SF, $61M) – Provides a mobile publishing platform for learning content. Backed by Sequoia Capital.

Evernote (2004, Redwood City, $266M) – Evernote provides workspace which allows users to capture, organize, and find information across multiple platforms.Backed by Sequoia Capital, CBC Capital, Meritech Capital Partners.
Smartsheet (2005, Bellevue, $67M) – Online collaborative work platform used by individuals and companies to manage projects and get work done from any device or browser. Backed by Sutter Hill Ventures.

Productivity
Chartcube (2013, San Mateo, $4.5M) – Business freemium product that allows people to review, share and discuss data on mobile. Backed by Shasta Ventures.
Genee (2014, California, $1.45M) –Smart meeting scheduling app which coordinates and fix meeting schedule with all invites by just sending email or sms to Genee. Backed by Streamlined Ventures.
